Bruce Gantz
Bruce Gantz (74MD, 80R, 80MS), professor in the Department of Otolaryngology, is the principal investigator of a P50 grant that recently received its eighth renewal from the National Institutes of Health. The five-year, $13.8 million grant renewal supports research on cochlear implants, deafness, and communication disorders. The grant was initially awarded in 1985, and the department has received over $76 million through its renewals.

Ali Jabbari (07 MD, 07PhD) was appointed chair and departmental executive officer of the Department of Dermatology in the Carver College of Medicine, effective Aug. 15. Jabbari is a physician-scientist specializing in autoimmune diseases affecting the skin and other organs.
