Brooks Jackson, MD, MBA, is a runner. He’s up early every morning, jogging several miles to start his day.

Running is an apt metaphor for what it takes to lead an academic medical center: commitment, discipline, stamina, coordination and balance, and the ability to adjust to prevailing headwinds. Jackson joined the University of Iowa in late November 2017 as vice president for medical affairs and dean of the Carver College of Medicine after four years in a similar leadership role at the University of Minnesota. Read more …
